Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Slow Forge Studio("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the EverCalc mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect information provided through your authentication method:

  • Google Sign-In: Name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
  • Sign in with Apple: Name and email address (or a relay email if you choose to hide your email).
  • Email & Password: Email address and a securely hashed password.

1.2 Calculation Data

Your calculations, expressions, results, session titles, categories, tags, notes, and favourite flags are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use the Google Drive cloud sync feature.

1.3 Cloud Sync Data

If you use the Google Drive Cloud Sync feature (EverCalc Pro), your local database file is exported to your personal Google Drive account. We do not store, access, or have visibility into your synced data. The file is stored in your own Google Drive storage.

1.4 Analytics & Diagnostics

We collect anonymized usage data to improve the app experience:

  • PostHog: Anonymized user event tracking (button taps, screen views, feature usage) to understand product usage patterns.
  • Sentry: Error logs, crash reports, and performance metrics to identify and fix bugs.
  • Firebase Analytics: General app usage statistics and engagement metrics.

1.5 Advertising Data

Free users may see banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad targeting purposes. EverCalc Pro users enjoy an ad-free experience with no advertising data collection.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service, including user authentication and calculation storage.
  • Enable Google Drive cloud sync for EverCalc Pro subscribers.
  • Process and manage EverCalc Pro subscriptions via RevenueCat.
  • Send push notifications about app updates and new features (with your consent).
  • Monitor and improve app performance, stability, and user experience.
  • Display relevant advertisements to free-tier users.
  • Enforce minimum version requirements for app security.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your calculation data is stored locally on your device. Account authentication is handled securely through Firebase Auth. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) and secure authentication protocols.

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, Analytics
  • Google Drive API — Cloud backup and sync (user-initiated only)
  • Google AdMob — Advertising for free-tier users
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management
  • Sentry — Error monitoring and performance tracking
  • PostHog — Product analytics

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing data collection. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing.
  • Export your data (via Google Drive sync).
  • Opt out of personalized advertising.

6. Data Retention

Your local calculation data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion request, we will remove your authentication records within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

EverCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
